We are looking for an OFA Level 2 or Level 3 with CSO and/or applicable safety training who will also work on site on the tools as a skilled labourer. This position requires working on construction project sites assisting the Superintendent and Skilled Tradespersons while also performing labouring activities and fulfilling First Aid and Safety requirements. In this role, no day is the same! It’s a fast-paced industry and there is a positive energy in the business.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

 

Labouring duties include performing tasks involved in:

 

The physical labour of building a project

Operating hand and power tools of a large variety as necessary

Site preparation and clean-up

 

First Aid/Safety responsibilities include:

 

Daily safety site inspections

Weekly/monthly reporting

Providing site safety orientations for all visitors to site

Attending to any injuries on site and providing appropriate treatment

Reporting any injuries, near misses or hazards on site

Qualifications and Skills

 

Our ideal candidate has the following skills and experience to bring to our team:

 

3 years’ experience on construction sites

Familiarity with building construction processes and using a variety of hand and power tools

Current OFA2 or OFA3 Certification

Strong organizational skills

Clear written and verbal communication skills

Positive, can-do attitude

Natural willingness to pitch in and do what’s needed to help get the job done

Physical capability to safely perform the work on site (i.e., lifting, carrying, standing, walking, kneeling, etc)
