Typical Responsibilities • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations • Plan and prepare construction schedules and milestones and monitor progress • Supervise and co-ordinate activities of subcontractors • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, field drawings and plans • Manage project budgets • Establish and implement policies and procedures for quality control • Hire and supervise staff • Prepare required reports • Develop and implement quality control programs • Oversee the analysis of data and information Requirements • Completion of post-secondary studies in construction, building technology, engineering or a similar field • National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) Certification • 1-3 years Canadian commercial construction experience • Previous experience working on a military base is considered an asset • Experience managing projects in excess of $15 million • Previous experience overseeing construction job sites • Must possess strong communication skills, both verbally and written • Ability to build and foster positive, productive and long lasting relationships • Highly organized and able to prioritize responsibilities • Results orientated with the ability to interpret and effectively manage multiple and competing priorities and timelines • Proficient in all Microsoft Office tools, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Projects • Valid Driver’s license with a clean driving record • Government of Canada Security Clearance – Reliability Level Working Conditions • Construction job sites • Out of town depending on project locations • Working outdoors in all weather conditions • Ability to work additional hours if required • Lift and manipulate objects of up to 50 lbs • Use of personal protective equipment • Frequently required to sit or stand for long periods • Walking, bending and kneeling is required • May be required to climb ladders and navigate inclined ramps to job sites
